Winter Wonderland

After my school Christmas party (which Kerry attended with us), we headed down to Winter Wonderland around 1am. This is a public skating rink/carnival for the town on the river. I really like these pictures...

That's me under the big sign.

Out in the middle of the ice-skating rink. The door slipped open when we walked by. Nathan did not partake.

Country Shenanigans

We may not have the money to build a house, and we may not have the land to build a house on, but we sure to have a lot of old wood to use in this imaginary home. Nathan's family has a lot of farm land around Owensboro, and in one spot an old barn collapsed. Bruce and Nathan got me out of the house early a few Saturdays ago just to "Check out the lumber for a few minutes." Two hours later, we started back home with a truckload of planks from this old barn. The plan is to have them planed in order to use them as a floor. We had a "wood guy" check out the haul, and he said it was awesome. We just have to wait for a few more minor details to fall into place before we can use our old barn wood.

Bruce and Nathan digging through the collapsed barn.

Me freezing my butt off in the cold KY weather.

In the loft of another barn (not collapsed).

The Nutcracker

So here is the infamous picture of me in my Nutcracker costume. I danced for about thirty-two counts and walked around stage for another five minutes. I'm supposed to look rich and fabulous. The girl with me is Lindsey Brown. We danced together in high school. Her maiden name is Nance and mine is Bishop. Still at the Riverpark Center (where we performed) people walked around yelling, "Nance! Bishop!" We NEVER went by our first names because it was too confusing. I pulled my old shoes out for the show and they even had "Bishop" written on the bottom. All of the adults in the show were awesome, and we had a really good time. I think we'll probably be forced to do this again next year. I'm really not a giant compared to Lindsey Brown...I think she must be standing about two feet behind me. Oh, that's my real hair. I curled it and fixed it myself. Jealous?

DVD Box Sets

Scott sent me a link to an article from Slate.com today. This was the note he attached:

"I read this and thought about my poor sister watching her box sets of the Office over and over and over. :) With a smile of course."

Read the article and see what you think. I happen to LOVE box sets of TV shows. Currently, I own all of The Office and LOST. I'm working on my collection of Dawson's Creek and The West Wing. I literally watch one of these every night before I fall asleep. Lots of you might not own box sets, but I know you frantically order the next disc of your current series on NetFlix.

Here's the article.
