Baby Reflux, Baby Medicine, Baby Happy

Last Wednesday, Graham has some major spit-up issues. I had to change clothes multiple times, and there was green gunk in his spit-up. His doctor saw him right away. During the visit, Graham screamed the entire time in true Graham style. The doc asked how long he'd been doing this and the honest answer was "Since 6:30am and since we brought him home from the hospital five weeks ago. But he sleeps at night!" His doctor didn't see him until 11am, so she was concerned. She sent him to the hospital for an upper GI. They discovered a slight case of reflux which was better than the other stomach issue that would need surgery. Now Graham is taking baby Zantac, and he's much happier.

Graham Talking

Finally got Graham to coo on camera...video is only one minute long. He's fresh out of the bath which is one of his favorite things. Wait for the grand finale of him spitting up everywhere.

Things That Don't Make Graham Cry...

1. Walking outside in the stroller. We take on average about three epic walks a day to keep Graham from screaming. I dread the day it rains.

2. Sitting in the bath tub. As long as he isn't being scrubbed or doesn't have soap squirted onto him, he's happy sitting in bath water. The second you start washing, he screams.

3. The Woombie...see previous blog entry. I love this picture because he started in the middle of the crib about an hour earlier. He is so squirmy. I hardly the slept the first few nights he slept over five hours because he moves all night. And whines, coughs, spits-up, farts, grunts, etc. He is loud and active in his sleep.

Morning Time

Graham has about ten minutes of happy time every morning after his breakfast. This is the only time I can get him to smile. Again, the window is quite small, and after the smiles his grumpy faces start and then the screaming. I guess ten minutes of awake and not crying is better than zero minutes which is where we were two weeks ago. Now if we can just work on his afternoon/night rage...crying from 3ish to 8ish. Ugh.

Currently my favorite pic of Graham.

Woombie!

This is the magic Woombie. Graham slept from 9:30 to 3:00 and then 3:00 to 7:30 last night in his straight jacket. He even woke up smiling at Nathan this morning. Magic!

I couldn't decide which announcement I liked best, so Nathan suggested getting some of each. Brilliant!

Angry Baby

"Mom! I shake my fist at you and your picture taking!"

I really wanted to use this pic for the birth announcement, but Nathan said no. This picture sums up Graham perfectly...brow furrowed, fist flying, getting angry at me.

The Many Faces of Graham

First picture with eyes actually open!

This is normally what Graham is doing if he's awake. Doctor says give it a few more weeks. Nathan and I have become pretty good at sleeping through this in turns.
