Charleston

Nathan and I went to Charleston, SC with another couple this week. We arrived in Charleston around lunchtime on Wednesday and left after brunch on Saturday. It was a great trip. Nathan was in vet school with Morgan and when her husband, Tyler, used to come to Auburn, we would all hang out. Now Morgan and Tyler are in Atlanta and we won't see them until graduation. Sad day. Since we did so much, I thought I would hits the highlights with a list. Overall, this was a great trip, and I'm looking forward to returning to Charleston.

Day One:
- Ate Andolini's
pizza for lunch.
- Walked through old Charleston and down to the Battery.
- A sampling of the best margarita in the world (according to Tyler) at Yo Burrito.
- Ate Thai food for dinner at Basil. So good.
- Kicked butt at trivia night at Kickin Chicken...3rd place out of almost 20 teams!

Day Two:
- Breakfast then a walking tour of old Charleston by Tommy Dew. Very interesting.
- Lunch at Kickin Chicken.
- Out to Folly Beach to see a lighthouse and to walk around.
- Two hour nap in preparation for the midnight showing of Watchmen.
- Change of plans...round two of Trivia Night at Yo Burrito. Exchanged the movie tickets for the next night. Everyone ready for a long night because of the nap.
- Success! Another third place prize at Yo Burrito. See picture above.

Day Three:
- Bagels out toward Folly.
- Visit the Angel Oak...a 1400 year old live oak tree.
- Visit the ONLY tea plantation in the United States. Feel like old people.
- Visit a winery that makes muscadine wine and sweet tea vodka.
- Lunch at The Lost Dog in Folly.
- Kayaking tour on the Folly River where we paddled next to many dolphins. Scary but cool.
- Showers and then a quick walk through a gallery hop in the French Quarter.
- Dinner at Cru Cafe. Amazing! We all cleaned our dinner plates and our dessert plates. Considered ordering a second round of entrees.
- Movie (Watchmen) at Cinebarre...a movie theater that has waitresses and serves food.
- Finally back to the hotel at 1am.

Day Four:
- Brunch at the Hominy Grill. We all became a little disgusted at the amount of food we consumed since arriving in Charleston.
- Drove home.

  1. I know... I could eat in Charleston endlessly. Maybe the constant walking evens it out. I hope.
    How was Watchmen?
